Weld Engineer



Works with design engineers, manufacturing associates, supervisor, quality technicians, and production floor employees to translate various programs and
initiatives into a production process that meets factory goals for safety, cost, quality, and productivity
Assists in writing weld procedures, process plans, and evaluating methods, evaluating cost and establishing/documenting weld sequences, processes and
Serves as liaison between production, quality assurance, and design engineering.
Ensures all AWS/ASME and ISO/EU directive codes are met
Works with manufacturing personnel to develop welding fixtures and improve quality.
Develops new welding techniques and procedures, troubleshoots weld issues, and assists with qualifying/recertification of welder and welding process
Assists with adherence of QA SOP-01 : Quality Control System for ASME Pressure Vessels
Monitors vessel welding and fabrication activities for compliance with Section VIII, Div. 1 of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, National Board
Inspection Codes and Engineering specifications.
Interfaces with Engineering Department, the Authorized Inspection Agency, ASME and the national Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors to clarify
design, construction, repair, or registration requirements
Ensures customer welding specification during proposal reviews, design reviews, and contract execution.

Minimum Education: B.S. degree in Weld Engineering
Minimum Experience: One year related work experience in ASME code, welding techniques, inspection and supplier development. Working knowledge and
experience in GTAW, GMAW, SAW, SMAW and FCAW. Practical working knowledge in non-destructive examination.
Minimum Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, structured approach to problem solving, detail-oriented, well-developed inter-personal skills,
assertive self-starter, strong analytical and organizational skills.
Preferred qualifications: Three year related work experience in ASME code, welding techniques, inspection, and supplier development.
